Deming management cycle

The Deming Management Cycle (Plan, Do, Study, Act) is a way of managing people that embodies the scientific method. (It is also known as Plan, Do, Check, Act in some circles.)

The method is scalable from individuals making sales calls, to managing large accounts, local sales teams, sales and marketing organizations, all the way to managing entire companies. It has become an international standard for improving all kinds of on-going production work. It contrasts with other problem-solving approaches, such as Six Sigma’s DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), although DMAIC is more project oriented. Both share a foundation requiring some knowledge of the Seven Quality Tools.
